I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt for now and include them on this list, because I’m sure that they will straighten out the kinks over time, and what Viking Mama does have to offer is an excellent location (in the heart of El Carmen), 5 huge TV screens and a yummy-looking menu with burgers, nachos and more.
With that said, Viking Mama only opened its doors in March 2020, and so it’s understandable that they are still having teething troubles – I can’t imagine a worse time to open a bar! Specifically, the staff don’t seem to know what they’re doing and they are often out of stock when it comes to drinks on offer (they had no wine whatsoever when I visited, and they were also out of half the beers on the menu!). Initially, I was hesitant to recommend Viking Mama as it definitely isn’t perfect. You can find St Patrick’s Irish Pub at Gran Via Marqués del Turia, 69, Valencia.
If there’s a game you particularly want to watch but you don’t see it on their schedule, just shoot them a message and they will make it happen. Not content with only showing football (you can watch any tournament here, from the African Cup Nations to the Champions League), they also show a whole host of other sports including the NBA, NFL, NHL, GAA, Rugby, Boxing, Darts, UFC, F1, Moto GP and pretty much anything else you can think of. However, most importantly, it is the best sports bar in Valencia, with 10 large TV screens, a huge selection of Irish, Spanish and international beers and an electric atmosphere. St Patrick’s is absolutely huge, with a large area at the front for live music, a pool room, dart board and table football for those who like to get competitive, and a snug ‘Irish cottage room’ with leather armchairs and a cosy vibe. Located on Gran Via, an affluent area of Valencia packed with cocktail bars and high-end restaurants, St Patrick’s is a welcome change to the fancier establishments in the area. St Patrick’s is arguably the best Irish pub in Valencia, and is actually staffed by Irish people!
